A globally recognized design and development firm is seeking a talented and experienced Architect to join a flagship hospitality project in the Cayman Islands. This is a rare opportunity to lead on-site architectural operations for a high-spec, multi-year luxury hotel development, while collaborating with an international design team.
Project Overview
The successful candidate will be based onsite and represent the firm locally on a prestigious new-build luxury hotel. This high-profile, three-year hospitality project promises to be one of the most iconic developments in the region.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary architectural representative on-site throughout the duration of the project
- Oversee and report on construction activities, ensuring adherence to architectural design, quality standards, and safety regulations
- Conduct regular site inspections, monitor foundation and structural phases, and ensure accurate implementation of design plans
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and local authorities to maintain workflow and compliance
- Provide consistent feedback to the international design team and contribute to collaborative project decisions
- Represent the firm in meetings with clients, stakeholders, and potential partners to support future project acquisition and office growth in the region
Requirements
- Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years experience in project delivery, particularly in high-end hospitality, residential, or commercial developments
- Proven ability to work independently and manage site-level responsibilities with minimal oversight
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of building relationships with local contractors and stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a long-term view of potentially establishing and growing a local studio presence
- Proficiency in construction documentation, site supervision, and quality control standards in accordance with local legislation
