Sous Chef
Description
SteppingStones is working alongside our client to assist them in sourcing a Sous Chef to join their growing team.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Executive Chef to produce high quality dishes while also playing a critical role within the company in a culinary and managerial capacity. The role includes helping in the costing, preparation and execution of all menu items, ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and in a timely manner, and assisting with eh ordering process and managing inventory. The Sous Chef is also responsible for managing and training the kitchen team.
We are looking for a candidate that has a strong knowledge of most cooking methods, ingredients, commercial equipment, and kitchen procedures. The candidate will also need to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. The role requires that the candidate have a HACCP Certification or at least a strong understanding of HACCP principles.
Requirements:
- 3+ years as a Sous Chef in a high paced professional kitchen
- Experience managing a team of 3 or more
- A valid Driver’s License
- A degree in culinary science or a related certificate desirable
