Employment is on the up and up!

According to a recent JobsOutlook report published by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), eight out of ten employers (79%) are using temporary support staff to provide short-term solutions to gaps in strategic skills within their workforces. What’s more, employers report being very satisfied with the quality of the candidate that are provided.

Kevin Green, CEO of REC said: “It’s clear that skills shortages are affecting the way in which employers use agency workers. This is a trend that is likely to continue as it becomes increasingly difficult to source the skilled permanent staff that businesses need to grow.

On the whole the report gave a very positive outlook focusing on the return of business stability and signaling plans for expansion with almost 78% of employers planning to increase their permanent staff levels in the next 4-12 months and 40% look to increase their temporary staff in the same timeframe. This is definitely good news for all involved in recruitment and HR and points to exciting developments in the year to come.
