Assistant Insurance Manager - Claims

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional with a background in health insurance to contribute to the success of our client’s organization.

What you’ll do

  • Assist in managing client renewals, negotiating terms and conditions with carriers on behalf of clients.
  • Manage medical claims processing to ensure claims are handled in accordance with policy conditions.
  • Interpret and explain Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to clients, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Handle escalated claims management, providing timely resolution of complex cases.
  • Assist with pre-authorization and follow-up on complicated customer claims to ensure quick resolution.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with all levels of management and diverse clientele.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve claims-related issues and ensure the overall success of the claims process.
  • Maintain attention to detail in all claims management activities, ensuring high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide administrative support to the claims team and ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll bring

  • Health Insurance Associate (HIA) designation, AHIP, ACII, or equivalent preferred (or in the process of obtaining).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Health Insurance, including individual and large group health and employee benefits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of medical claims processing and health insurance laws.
  • Familiarity with standard health insurance benefits.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work with minimal instruction.
  • Ability to resolve complex claims issues efficiently and proactively.
