Buyer - Grocery Purchasing and Procurement

Our client is seeking a dedicated Grocery Purchasing Specialist to join their team and play a crucial role in ensuring shelves are stocked with high-quality products at competitive prices.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase grocery products, maintaining optimal stock levels to meet customer demand.
- Keep accurate records of purchases, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventory levels.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating for the best pricing and contract terms.
- Stay ahead of market trends to anticipate customer needs and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
- Evaluate supplier performance and lead initiatives for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with merchandising, marketing, and operations teams to drive business success.
- Conduct regular aisle walks with Grocery Team Leaders to ensure product presentation and stock levels are on point.
- Engage in category management exercises to strategically introduce new items.
- Present new products to the Buyers’ Council for evaluation and approval.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the team’s goals.
