Chief Compliance Officer

SteppingStones is working alongside our client, a local financial institution to assist them in sourcing a Chief Compliance Officer.

The Chief Compliance Officer will be responsible for facilitating, managing, and ensuring all business activities are regulatory and governance compliance. The role also includes creating, managing, and enforced a corporate compliance program while identifying the potential areas of compliance vulnerability and assessing all compliance risks. The Chief Compliance Officer will act as a contact point for CIMA and other regulatory bodies and will produce and present monthly reports to the company’s senior management team.

We are looking for an individual that has a sound knowledge of and experience in regulatory compliance and any knowledge of audit and accounting practices would be considered an asset. The ideal candidate will possess superior analytical, critical thinking and investigative skills while being organized, and proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. This role requires excellent written and oral communication skills and strong leadership and management skills.

Requirements:

• A Masters Degree in Management or Business Administration OR A Bachelor of Laws degree or BSc. In Finance / Risk Management
• A Compliance Certification and/or Training
• 5+ years of experience at the managerial level in Banking, Risk Management, Business Continuity or a related field
• 5+ years of experience supervising teams at a senior managerial level
