Chief Insurance Analyst

Description

This role includes risk-focused inspections and leading meetings with clients.

What you’ll do

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate off-site and on-site monitoring processes.
  • Monitor non-compliant licensees and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Investigate complex regulatory issues and recommend improvements.
  • Assess (re)insurance programs and make recommendations.
  • Chair meetings with licensees and represent our client at regulatory events.
  • Assist in organizing conferences and regulatory meetings.
  • Manage and coach team members, addressing performance issues.
  • Ensure team compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct probationary assessments and annual appraisals.
  • Complete projects aligning regulatory practices with international standards.
  • Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations.
  • Provide recommendations on legislation, regulations, and supervisory practices.
  • Maintain updated, risk-based procedure manuals.
  • Participate in producing industry statistics.
  • Issue circulars on developments and policy changes.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or risk management.
  • Six years of experience in insurance/reinsurance/risk management, including three years in management.
  • Experience in regulatory/compliance work in the insurance industry is beneficial.
  • Professional qualifications in insurance/risk management/finance are beneficial.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis for insurance companies.
  • Understanding of insurance and reinsurance practices and emerging supervisory techniques.
  • Knowledge of the Cayman Islands’ Insurance Act and related regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Internal Capital Models is an asset.
