Chief Insurance Analyst
Description
This role includes risk-focused inspections and leading meetings with clients.
What you’ll do
- Plan, implement, and evaluate off-site and on-site monitoring processes.
- Monitor non-compliant licensees and ensure prompt resolution.
- Investigate complex regulatory issues and recommend improvements.
- Assess (re)insurance programs and make recommendations.
- Chair meetings with licensees and represent our client at regulatory events.
- Assist in organizing conferences and regulatory meetings.
- Manage and coach team members, addressing performance issues.
- Ensure team compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct probationary assessments and annual appraisals.
- Complete projects aligning regulatory practices with international standards.
- Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations.
- Provide recommendations on legislation, regulations, and supervisory practices.
- Maintain updated, risk-based procedure manuals.
- Participate in producing industry statistics.
- Issue circulars on developments and policy changes.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or risk management.
- Six years of experience in insurance/reinsurance/risk management, including three years in management.
- Experience in regulatory/compliance work in the insurance industry is beneficial.
- Professional qualifications in insurance/risk management/finance are beneficial.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis for insurance companies.
- Understanding of insurance and reinsurance practices and emerging supervisory techniques.
- Knowledge of the Cayman Islands’ Insurance Act and related regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of Internal Capital Models is an asset.
