Compliance Manager and Deputy MLRO

SteppingStones is working alongside our client to assist them in sourcing a Compliance Manager and Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer to join their team.

The Compliance Manager and Deputy MLRO will be responsible for supporting the organizations compliance operations to ensure the maintenance of high ethical and professional standards, consistent with relevant Laws, Regulations, and Best Practice standards. The successful candidate will provide reports on the operations functions of the organisation, monitor transaction exceptions and produce quarterly reports, and conduct quarterly reviews of the organizations portfolio of clients.

The role includes conducting KYC file reviews, providing assistance in the preparation of any Suspicious Activity Reports, and ensuring that the Threshold Transaction Reports are prepared and submitted to CIMA. The Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation is fully compliant with internal policies and procedures and will prepare and coordinate training sessions to enhance awareness and compliance.

We are looking for a candidate that has superior analytical, critical thinking, and investigative skills with the ability to clearly organize, record and communicate work product. This role requires that the candidate has a sound knowledge of audit and accounting practices and experience in regulatory compliance. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong leadership and management/relationship building skills. Technological proficiency is a must with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Requirements:

  • An Associate Degree or BSc in Business Administration or a related field from a recognized Tertiary Institution
  • 2+ years of experience in compliance functions
  • 3+ years of related experience supervising a team
  • Compliance Training and/or certification desirable
