Compliance Officer

Description

On behalf of our client we are actively seeking a Compliance Officer to join their Guernsey based team. As Compliance Officer you will be required to ensure company entities are carried out in accordance with local regulatory requirements, developing the compliance network and enhancing the groups potential in the compliance field.   
  
Duties;

• Provide board reports on a regular basis
• Preparation of “Risk and Compliance” Report and presentation to Directors at Local Boards and Governance Meetings
• Carry out periodic reporting to and maintains relationships with the GFSC
• Carry out MLRO duties
• Undertake GFSC approvals when required
• Develops initiates, maintains and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program
• Responds to alleged breaches of rules/regulations, policies, procedures, by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures; 
• Acts as an independent review and evaluation
• Identifies areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, develop and implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
• Ensures proper reporting to enforcement agencies

  
Requirements;

• 5+ years’ experience in a Compliance and/or regulatory role
• Knowledge and experience of the alternates market in financial services both UK and globally
• Leadership ability, ability to communicate effectively
• Familiarity with financial services laws, regulations, and standards, understanding of risk management, and performance improvement
• Motivated and driven
• Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
