Construction Manager

Description

The Construction Manager is accountable for overseeing all field operations of construction projects, ensuring the achievement of safety, budget, schedule, and quality objectives. This role will lead the delivery of hospitality, commercial, and residential construction projects, supported by an assigned team. The Construction Manager is responsible for effective coordination between various stakeholders, ensuring safety compliance, and managing the project from initiation to completion.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the field construction operations to ensure safety, budget, schedule, and quality targets are met.
  • Define and monitor staff roles, workloads, and performance, ensuring cross-training opportunities.
  • Enforce HSE policies, ensuring compliance across the team.
  • Conduct safety orientations, toolbox meetings, and regular worksite inspections.
  • Investigate and resolve any safety incidents or breaches, implementing corrective actions.
  • Actively participate in schedule reviews and communicate project milestones to all stakeholders.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, assisting in mitigation strategies when delays occur.
  • Track and document project progress, ensuring timely reporting of key developments.
  • Manage project costs, ensuring subcontractor invoices are accurate and avoid overpayments.
  • Review and approve work requests within established budget and scope guidelines.
  • Ensure quality control programs are followed by subcontractors and address any issues.
  • Lead subcontractor work sequencing and prioritize tasks to ensure project efficiency.
  • Resolve conflicts between contractors, designers, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Support the design and procurement process by reviewing feasibility, cost, and scope accuracy.
  • Maintain daily logs, meeting minutes, and ensure proper documentation of all project activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in managing projects with a value exceeding $20 million in commercial, residential, or hospitality sectors.
  • Previous experience in a construction management role with a focus on project execution and field operations.
  • Experience with contract administration, claims negotiation, and dispute resolution.
  • Expertise in developing, evaluating, and implementing critical path method (CPM) schedules.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and MS Office.
  • Solid technical knowledge of building construction, including services.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and other drafting/design tools is a plus.
