Electrical Engineer
Description
Opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will focus on the development, maintenance, and improvement of Transmission and Distribution (T&D) equipment and systems, including Substation HV/MV equipment and power transformers. This is a hybrid role, with a mix of office, field, and plant-based work.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research, design, and development of materials, methods, and standards for T&D equipment, including Substation HV/MV equipment and power transformers
- Maintain and update construction and design standards for overhead and underground primary and secondary voltage lines
- Lead the review, production, and approval process for T&D equipment standards, including Substation HV/MV equipment and power transformers, and manage a structured database of version-controlled documents.
- Oversee and manage projects focused on upgrading and maintaining T&D and production systems
- Authenticate designs for both standard and non-standard applications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and external agency requirements.
- Provide engineering and technical support to the Energy Operations Division
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 8+ years experiences in a similar role
- Professional engineering registration or eligibility to register as a Chartered or Professional Engineer.
- Experience with technical drawing software, such as AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of electrical, civil, and structural design principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex design, maintenance, and project issues.
