Head of Communications & Public Affairs - Temporary
SteppingStones is working on behalf of our client to assist them in sourcing a Head of Communications & Public Affairs to join their team for a 3 month assignment.
The Head of Communications & Public Affairs will be responsible for all communications and public affairs activities. In this role, the successful candidate will research, develop, and implement strategic communications programs in support of key policy developments. The candidate will oversee the production of a variety of communication materials and will maintain and develop a database of international financial services media contracts. One of the main responsibilities of the role will be to generate positive media opportunities and media placements in domestic and international media while developing the annual communications plan and working alongside colleagues to ensure the success of the plan.
We are looking for a candidate with knowledge of the Cayman Islands financial service industry and an appreciation for the interrelationship with the global financial service industry. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability and experience in media and stakeholder relations and a record of achievement in developing multi-national communication strategies and managing, coordinating, and monitoring their implementation.
The role requires a strong understanding of various communications disciplines i.e., media relations, public affairs, advertising, etc. and a familiarity with digital/new media i.e., effective web sites, digital communications programs, professional groups within social platforms etc.
- A Master’s degree in Communications or similar
- 7+ years of experience in corporate communications or public relations management
- Management experience in communications programs
