Our client, a prestigious international firm known for its excellence in legal and financial services, is urgently seeking a highly experienced Legal Secretary to support their Trusts and Private Client team in the Cayman Islands. This is a 3-month contract role with an immediate start, ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong legal administrative background.

Role Overview

You will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to attorneys, primarily within the Trusts and Private Client team, with additional support to the Regulatory team as needed. The role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting, formatting, and amending legal documents and correspondence
  • Scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements
  • Liaising with external regulatory bodies (e.g., CIMA, Cayman Courts)
  • Managing document filing, archiving, and disposal in line with firm protocols
  • Conducting court searches, conflicts checks, and compliance-related tasks
  • Supporting attorneys with billing, expense claims, and client onboarding
  • Assisting with marketing trip preparation and internal database updates
  • Proofreading and preparing documents for submission or filing

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 8+ years of legal secretarial experience (Corporate or Litigation experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with Trusts and Estates law is a strong advantage
  • Excellent document formatting and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with legal systems such as iManage, Interaction, CORIS, and Adobe
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work across multiple jurisdictions and time zones
