Senior Accountant

SteppingStones is working alongside our client, a prominent locally owned business, to assist them in sourcing a Senior Accountant to join their team.

The Senior Accountant will provide detailed accounts assistance and support the Board of Directors, Accounts Department, and the administrative and financial team. The role will include preparing, examining and analysing accounting records, financial statements and other business reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance to reporting standards. Other responsibilities will include developing, implementing, and modifying any document record-keeping and accounting systems.

We are looking for a candidate that has a professional accounting qualification and a minimum of five years of experience in a senior level accounting position. The role requires excellent Microsoft Excel skills and technological proficiency. Any experience using ACCPAC and Counterpoint systems would be considered an asset. To be successful in this role the candidate must be numerate, detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet strict deadlines.

Required:

• A professional Accounting qualification such as CPA/ACCA
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 5+ years in a senior accounting position
