Senior AML Compliance Specialist

Description

This role is critical in ensuring our client’s onboarding processes and compliance measures align with regulatory standards. We are looking for high performing, self-motivated leaders who are eager to contribute to our client’s success.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with various divisions for successful client onboarding and participate in new business calls to provide AML guidance.
  • Approve low/medium risk client account openings and amendments; conduct initial reviews of high-risk account openings and amendments.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and AML/KYC due diligence for complex structures; perform periodic reviews based on client risk ratings to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Update due diligence records for high-risk accounts as needed and approve transactions; review account activities, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Provide guidance on OFAC/World Compliance screening results and promote a Risk-Based Approach to AML/KYC and transaction monitoring.
  • Report suspicious activities internally in a timely manner.
  • Mentor and support the AML Compliance team; assist in training and development and encourage knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Collaborate with management and the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to maintain high standards of client service.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficiency and compliance; evaluate and improve methods and processes to meet regulatory obligations.

What you’ll bring

  • Four-year degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or Professional Compliance or AML Certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking or financial services.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments with minimal guidance.
  • Proven experience in challenging and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with database software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
