Senior Credit Controller

Description

We’re now seeking a Senior Credit Controller to ensure all aspects of credit management and collections are performed in accordance with the group’s policies and procedures.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for the credit control of all assigned outstanding balances, including working with the treasury function to ensure the timely allocation and reconciliation of cash receipts.
  • Report, review, and monitor aged balances ensuring problematic accounts are identified.
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with key stakeholders to reduce the risk of bad debts and positively impact the group’s cash flow.
  • Proactively work with the Credit Control Manager and Head of Financial Operations to develop strategies and implement changes that make the firm easier to do business with and minimize bad debt.
  • Serve as a champion/mentor to other credit control team members and the wider finance teams.
  • Handle internal and client inquiries (e.g., account balances, breakdown of charges, copy invoices, etc.).
  • Liaise with Partners and Fee Earners regarding their unpaid invoices, and provide reports as required.
  • Assume responsibility for resolving escalated debtor queries and working with external third-party collection agencies.
  • Database administration to ensure accurate master data is maintained and updated as required.
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks.

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in credit management/collections.
  • Experience dealing with a high volume of customers and/or invoices on a monthly basis.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, collating, and analyzing debtor reports.
  • 3E Collections or similar systems experience desirable.
  • Experience in a similar role within Finance/Legal office environment.
  • Customer-centric individual with prior exposure to meeting with and dealing with Partners.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Some system change management experience desirable, along with a continuous improvement mindset.
