Systems & Database Administrator

SteppingStones is working on behalf of our client to assist them in sourcing a Systems & Database Administrator to join their team.

The Systems & Database Administrator will support the Head of Information System Development & Support with SQL Server Maintenance and Development, as well as provide assistance with the monitoring of network, security and system alerts, and the monitoring and testing of backup systems.

We are looking for a candidate that is proficient with Microsoft Office applications and one or more scripting or programming languages. The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work in a complex, multi-project environment. The ideal candidate will have a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving a board understanding of Information Systems concepts and practices.

The role requires specific skills, knowledge and/or experience in the following areas: X-Roads Web Services, VMWare, Database administration, SQL Server maintenance skills to track, discuss, or validate any definition or development. Any experience with database development, business intelligence tools , and PHP programming is highly desirable.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science with 5+ years of post-graduate experience OR an IT related Associates degree with 8+ years post-graduate experience
• 3+ years working in the configuration, implementation/support of SQL Server databases
• Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) Certification desirable
