Transmission and Distribution Systems Coordinator

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and managing Switching Orders for scheduled and unscheduled outages on both 13 kV and 69 kV Systems, while also overseeing the field switching operations.
  • Leading large-scale capital projects, including designing systems, creating customer and contractor agreements, and managing their execution.
  • Organizing and overseeing thermal scanning of transmission and distribution lines, documenting issues such as hot spots with images, generating work orders for necessary repairs, and tracking repair progress.
  • Coordinating with external agencies to obtain the necessary approvals for design activities.
  • Supporting the update of mapping systems to reflect current field conditions, including poles, conductors, and transformers, and ensuring model continuity is accurate.
  • Designing both Transmission and Distribution Systems, and supporting the installation of underground and overhead lines, as well as lighting and line extension or upgrade projects.
  • Collaborating with line supervisors to determine work methods for construction line designs.
  • Partnering with the engineering team on system upgrades and maintenance, including determining locations for switches, feeder tie points, fault indicators, and other key components.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma from an accredited three-year Electrical Technology program
  • 5+ years of experience in the electric utility sector.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office and experience using work order management systems
  • Proven ability to apply practical knowledge and sound judgment in addressing design challenges and collaborating with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with organizations and individuals outside the company.
