Transmission and Distribution Systems Coordinator
Description
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and managing Switching Orders for scheduled and unscheduled outages on both 13 kV and 69 kV Systems, while also overseeing the field switching operations.
- Leading large-scale capital projects, including designing systems, creating customer and contractor agreements, and managing their execution.
- Organizing and overseeing thermal scanning of transmission and distribution lines, documenting issues such as hot spots with images, generating work orders for necessary repairs, and tracking repair progress.
- Coordinating with external agencies to obtain the necessary approvals for design activities.
- Supporting the update of mapping systems to reflect current field conditions, including poles, conductors, and transformers, and ensuring model continuity is accurate.
- Designing both Transmission and Distribution Systems, and supporting the installation of underground and overhead lines, as well as lighting and line extension or upgrade projects.
- Collaborating with line supervisors to determine work methods for construction line designs.
- Partnering with the engineering team on system upgrades and maintenance, including determining locations for switches, feeder tie points, fault indicators, and other key components.
Qualifications:
- A diploma from an accredited three-year Electrical Technology program
- 5+ years of experience in the electric utility sector.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office and experience using work order management systems
- Proven ability to apply practical knowledge and sound judgment in addressing design challenges and collaborating with external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with organizations and individuals outside the company.
