Celebrating Child Month

As many of you may already know, May 2015 has been designated as Child Month in the Cayman Islands. One of this year’s goals for the initiative is to encourage parents and adults to share meaningful fun activities with children. Below is a list of family friendly activities and events taking place this weekend, that parents and other adults can share with the child (ren) in their lives. There is something for everyone!

For the artistically minded, consider the 12th Annual Chalkfest Competition at Camana Bay or the Kirk Office Children’s Colouring Day, both taking place on Saturday 23rd May 2015 at 10am – 1pm and 9am to 12 noon respectively. Lots of fun activities will be offered at both events and kids are sure to remember the day fondly!

Pet lovers may want to attend in the Humane Society’s Petapalooza 2015 at the Royal Palms on Saturday 23rd May 2015 from 2 pm to midnight. Not only is this a family friendly event but it is dog friendly too!

Sports enthusiasts may enjoy the inaugural Cayman Islands Table Tennis Championships being held at UCCI on Saturday 23rd May 2015 or the Walk for a Child 5K fun run taking place at the Holiday Inn, Safe haven on Sunday, 24th May 2015. Good opportunity to pass on a love for sports!

The spiritually minded may want to consider the concert being held at the Church of God Holiness, Red Bay, at 6pm on Sunday 24th May 2015 featuring The Symphonic Wind and String Ensemble from God’s Bible School and College, Cincinnati, Ohio. Get a good start on the upcoming week with some inspirational music!
