Glow in the Dark Run. TONIGHT

As darkness falls tonight and as people settle down in front of their televisions, thousands of others will pull on their running shoes and red flashing armbands and head for the door. In over 50 cities worldwide they will be part of a living light show flowing through the streets like lava. There are 5 official locations – Dublin, Cork, Belfast, London and Manchester and pop-up events led by volunteers in cities worldwide. And as 8pm sweeps around the globe, like watching New Year’s Eve, 5 km and 10 km runs will unite a community of people helping to fast-track a cure for paralysis. The Run in the Dark began to support The Mark Pollock Trust, an organization committed to finding the cure for paralysis.

Wednesday 16th November 2016, 8pm

Grand Cayman will be presenting the Cayman Islands and the Caribbean in this year’s Run In The Dark and this year’s pop-up run will be championed by Hannah Foreman and Sarah Lewis.

The Route:

The Run is one or two loops of a 5K circuit that starts and finishes at Margaritaville.

5K walkers/runners will do one circuit, those running the 10K will do two circuits.

From Margaritaville participants will run south down South Church Street for 2 km before turning left into Denham Thompson Way. At the end of Walkers Road turn left back towards Margaritaville. At the junction of Walkers Rd and Goring Rd, participants should take a left into Goring Avenue and left again towards South Church Street. After turning right onto South Church Street participants finish with the loop of Heroes Square turning right into Cardinal Avenue at the corner of Margaritaville, left up Edwards Street, left again into Fort Street and back down to Margaritaville.

Please aim to arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of the start time (8pm) so that we can ensure everyone will receive their flashing armband and buff before taking a group photo before we go running!

After Party at Margaritaville: After the race has finished all runners are encouraged to reunite upstairs at Margaritaville for half price appetizers and drinks, a free raffle prize draw with some amazing prizes and of course to raise a toast to Mark.
