National Barefoot Day

Today, June 1st  is marked as “unofficial” National Barefoot Day: a day where you can kick off your shoes and enjoy walking freely barefoot. National Barefoot Day was promoted by an organization called Soles4Souls which was set up after the tragic Tsunami event that happened in 2004. In order to support this cause you can contribute pairs of shoes which will be donated to underprivileged children all around the world who have lost everything due to the disaster.

As a matter of fact, just a year after Souls4Soles launched this initiative they have already received over 9 million pairs of shoes. Soles4Souls are mainly located in North America, but don’t let that stop you from contributing, any non-profit organization can help. So go and look for a pair of shoes and you can make a difference in someone’s life.

On the plus side, those in Cayman can simply go to one of the best beaches in the world which we are proud to say, and enjoy the soft cool sand between your toes or let the wet sand remove the dry skin on your feet and receive what we like to call a natural ecofriendly pedicure.

Enjoy National Barefoot day and make a difference today :)!
