Legal Secretary - Funds

On behalf of our client we are seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Legal Secretary to join the Investment Funds team. This role will work independently and collaboratively to provide top-notch support to lawyers, ensuring exceptional client service. This role requires professionalism, teamwork, organization, attention to detail, and the utmost confidentiality.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare standard and complex legal documents, including incorporation and formation documents for Cayman Companies, Partnerships, and LLCs.
  • Handle all necessary filings with internal and external bodies, such as the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.
  • Organize documents for fund entities for registration through the Government Portal, REEFS.
  • Assist in the termination of funds, including drafting relevant documents, settling fees, filing notices, and liaising with government bodies.
  • Coordinate with the Registered Office regarding entity filings and service requests.
  • Prepare invoices, draft bill narratives, and manage billing processes.
  • Create, edit, amend, and store correspondence and documents in electronic files, including preparing “blacklined” documents.
  • Perform other duties as required, including working outside normal hours when necessary.

What you’ll bring

  • Recognized legal secretarial qualification and/or 3-5 years of legal experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typing speeds of 60-70 wpm with 98% accuracy.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to use legal precedents and billing systems.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Tact and diplomacy for handling confidential matters.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a complex workload and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and service enhancement.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing circumstances and emergency situations.
  • Willingness to occasionally work overtime when requested.
