Appliance Purchasing & Inventory Specialist

On behalf of our client we are looking for an experienced Appliance Purchasing & Inventory Specialist
This role requires a self-sufficient individual with a strong technical background in HVAC, refrigeration, and/or appliances, comfortable working hands-on and able to manage purchasing, inventory levels, international suppliers, forecasting, technical parts, and equipment without extensive guidance.
Requirments
- 5+ years of purchasing, procurement and/or inventory management experience
- Strong experience within HVAC, refrigeration, appliances, MEP, or a closely related technical industry
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment, components, parts, and product compatibility
- Experience managing inventory, SKUs, forecasting and reorder levels
- International purchasing, freight and supplier management experience
- Experience working with technical model and part numbers
- Ability to independently manage purchasing decisions from start to finish
- Fluency in English and Spanish
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing of HVAC, refrigeration, appliances, replacement parts, and technical supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels, reorder points, demand and seasonal requirements.
- Source, evaluate and negotiate with local and international suppliers.
- Manage purchase orders, backorders, deliveries and supplier discrepancies.
- Coordinate international orders with freight forwarders, shipping companies and customs brokers.
- Track shipments, freight costs, lead times and total landed costs.
- Purchase appliances and replacement parts based on model compatibility, demand and manufacturer specifications.
- Review historical usage, current stock, outstanding orders and goods in transit to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Maintain accurate SKUs, model numbers, part numbers and inventory records.
- Identify compatible, alternative, discontinued or superseded parts and products.
- Conduct inventory counts and investigate stock discrepancies.
- Consider warehouse capacity and company cash flow when planning purchases.
- Proactively identify and prevent stock shortages, overstocking, and unnecessary purchasing.
