Accounts Assistant - Contract

SteppingStones is seeking an immediately available Accounts Assistant to join our Professional Contractor team!
We are working alongside our client, a regional financial institution, to assist them in sourcing an Accounts Assistant to provide support in processing, monitoring, and maintaining their accounting records.
The role will include:
- Preparing journals for the general ledger
- Performing weekly checks on all accounts
- Daily cash balance reports
- Accounts Payables weekly reports
- Prepare general ledger schedules monthly
- Account reconciliations
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Excellent analytical thinking and the ability to analyse complex situations
- The ability to accomplish daily tasks effectively, work independently and as part of a team, and motivate themself and others
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills including competency using Microsoft Word and Excel
The successful candidate must have:
- An Associate’s degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting or equivalent
- 2+ years of working in a financial institution
