Accounts Assistant - Contract

SteppingStones is seeking an immediately available Accounts Assistant to join our Professional Contractor team! 

We are working alongside our client, a regional financial institution, to assist them in sourcing an Accounts Assistant to provide support in processing, monitoring, and maintaining their accounting records. 

The role will include:

  • Preparing journals for the general ledger
  • Performing weekly checks on all accounts 
  • Daily cash balance reports
  • Accounts Payables weekly reports
  • Prepare general ledger schedules monthly
  • Account reconciliations

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Excellent analytical thinking and the ability to analyse complex situations
  • The ability to accomplish daily tasks effectively, work independently and as part of a team, and motivate themself and others
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including competency using Microsoft Word and Excel

The successful candidate must have:

  • An Associate’s degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting or equivalent
  • 2+ years of working in a financial institution
