SteppingStones is recruiting on behalf of our client who is looking for a Pre-School Principal to lead their established early childhood centre in Grand Cayman.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership across the day-to-day educational and operational functions of the school.
  • Lead, mentor and develop teaching, administrative and support staff, including performance management and professional development.
  • Oversee the delivery and continued development of Early Years educational programmes in line with the Cayman Islands EYFS framework.
  • Maintain high teaching standards through classroom observations, staff evaluations and ongoing coaching.
  • Take a lead role in safeguarding and child protection, ensuring appropriate policies, procedures and staff training are maintained.
  • Ensure the school remains compliant with relevant Cayman Islands education requirements and standards.
  • Foster a positive, safe and nurturing environment for both children and employees.
  • Develop strong relationships with parents and act as a senior point of contact for educational and pastoral matters.
  • Oversee relevant administrative reporting, expenditure and financial records.
  • Work closely with senior management to support the school’s continued development and success.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Education Administration or a related discipline.
  • Recognised professional teaching qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant education experience, with significant exposure to Early Years education.
  • Proven leadership experience as a Pre-School Principal, Nursery Manager, Early Years Head, Deputy Head, Head Teacher or similar.
  • Strong understanding of Early Years curriculum delivery, safeguarding and child development.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, managing and developing educational teams.
  • Excellent leadership, organisation and communication skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and general administrative systems.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete relevant background checks and professional references.

Teaching Licence & International Candidates Applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain a Cayman Islands teaching licence.

Suitably qualified international candidates are encouraged to apply, with overseas teaching qualifications subject to assessment and approval by the relevant Cayman Islands authorities.

Applicants should hold a recognised degree alongside an appropriate professional teaching qualification or licence within their jurisdiction, such as QTS in the UK, state/provincial teacher certification in North America, or an accredited Teaching Diploma or equivalent within the Caribbean.
