Senior MS Engineer

Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer & Team Lead to oversee project delivery, provide senior-level technical escalation support, and lead a small team of helpdesk and project engineers. This is a hands-on technical role with leadership responsibilities, ideal for a highly capable Microsoft 365 and Azure professional who enjoys both solution delivery and mentoring technical teams.

Project Delivery

  • Lead the technical delivery of client projects from design through implementation and handover
  • Design and implement Microsoft 365 and Azure-based solutions aligned with client requirements and best practices
  • Manage project cutovers, migrations, and change windows, including occasional after-hours work where required

Technical Escalation & Infrastructure Ownership

  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues across Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, identity, endpoint, and security environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to mail flow, conditional access, Intune, endpoint management, backup, and cloud infrastructure
  • Maintain and improve client environments, including security posture, tenant configuration, licensing, and backup strategies

Team Leadership

  • Allocate workload and monitor quality of technical delivery
  • Participate in client meetings and represent the business with technical and executive stakeholders
  • Maintain strong operational processes and documentation standards

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Senior or Lead role
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
  • Strong expertise across:
    • Exchange Online
    • Entra ID / Azure AD
    • Intune
    • SharePoint Online
    • Teams administration
    • Microsoft Defender
  • Experience supporting and administering Azure infrastructure and cloud services
  • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experienc
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, zero-trust principles, and tenant hardening
  • Experience with backup and recovery platforms including Veeam or equivalent
