Senior Interior Designer
Description
A leading multi-disciplinary architectural firm in the Cayman Islands is seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join their creative team. This role is ideal for a design professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, brings a strong commercial sensibility, and has a proven track record of delivering high-quality interior environments for the corporate and institutional sectors. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design of contemporary, functional spaces that align with architectural vision, local context, and client goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of interior environments for commercial, civic, and institutional projects across the Cayman Islands and wider region.
- Develop and present conceptual designs, detailed space planning, and complete drawing packages for interior architecture, millwork, finishes, and FF&E.
- Work closely with project architects, clients, and consultants to ensure integration of interior and architectural elements.
- Participate in project meetings, prepare documentation for tender and construction, and support contract administration during the build phase.
- Maintain a clear understanding of building codes, accessibility requirements, and sustainability practices relevant to interior design.
- Research materials, finishes, and furnishings suitable for tropical environments and high-performance spaces.
- Contribute to the evolution of design standards and best practices within a studio focused on contemporary, site-responsive architecture.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited institution.
- 5–10 years of professional experience in interior design, with a strong focus on commercial and corporate interiors.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects from concept through construction.
- Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of interior detailing, lighting design, space planning, and material specification.
